Houghton Hunter-Jumper Show April 2005

We had a great first show of the season at the Houghton College Hunter Jumper show in Houghton, NY!  Despite two rainy days we had a lot of fun and won lots of ribbons!  Melissa B. had some great rides on Opie (Oklahoma Pine), taking the Reserve Championship in the walk/trot division.  Amanda C.gained lots of experience on her first time out with Earl Grey, a new lesson horse who brought home plenty of ribbons!  Michaela A. did double duty, riding (and placing on) both Opie and Magic against some stiff competition!  Sarah Haver had a blast showing her former boy (Opie) and winning the hunter hack class.  And Jennie V. looked great as always, riding her own Rusty Van Gogh to several ribbons.  Great job girls!! 

Houghton Horse Trial and Dressage Show October 1-2, 2004

Ashley, Niki and Brittany had two days of fun at the Houghton Horse Trial and Dressage show on October 1&2.  We all learned a lot about eventing, and spent many hours preparing (and walking the cross-country course!)  Niki and Magic had a blast jumping in their first horse trial, with clean (and fast!) rounds in both cross country and stadium jumping, riding to a second place finish among the junior competitors, and a 5th place overall!

Brittany and Ashley preferred to keep all feet on the ground and instead competed in the dressage competition held the same day.  Both riding Opie, they rode beautiful tests and brought in great scores in introductory and training levels!
