Some of Our LESSON Horses

Meet our Trinity lesson horses!    We do our absolute best to offer quality riding lessons with quality riding horses.  Our horses go through a try-out  period  before they can join the lesson program.  The horses that have made it  are extremely loveable, kind, have good minds,  have all been  professionally trained and have  proven themselves in shows and lessons to be knowlegable and for the most part very predictable.

FYI-it's taken an  average of 8-10  months to find each  lesson horse  and there's  been  a 3:1  ratio  of  'didnt make it' versus those who pass and get to take care of your kids.

Laura R. with one of our lesson favorites, Sunny D   laura and sunny.cm2

(15.3 HH Quarter Horse).  Sunny D-above is the most   unique  lesson horse- an absolute dream. A 3 yr old can ride him alone OR you  can wind him up  in barrels and his Dash for Cash is consistently under 9 seconds.   Sunny and his most special girl that currently leases him (Sarah V.) came in 2nd in a class of 101 (!!!!) at InterCounty 4H in Oct'05.  Sunny is a truly sweet  and  competitive horse all in the same package.

Buddy (above and left): 16.2 HH Dapple Grey Thoroughbred used for English and Western Lessons.  It's hard not to  love  Buddy...he's honest , kind  under saddle and has a  western  jog  to beat  the band!

Magic Moments (above left) is a 14.2 HH Hunter/Jumper lesson horse and a 3 time Pennsylvania State 4H Champion.  Magic, knick-named 'The Energizer Pony'  loves jumping and Dressage  and is a big Eventing fan. Magic is just a fan of being ridden- this horse literally loves it!

Skipster's Lily Bee a.k.a. Skip (above right), is a double registered 15.2 HH PalominoQH . Skip used to do the AQHA show circuit in Indiana (had 65 pleasure points as a youngster) and she is now a lesson horse and is shown here in her western  gear.  Skip is so well trained a child  can ride her in a hackamore (no  bit in  her  bridle).   Skip does beginner English,  Western Pleasure and has been  retired from barrels because  she  is currently bred to a two-time World Reserve PHBA  (PalominoHorse Breeders Association) Champion.

Oklahoma Pine Opie (above left and right) is a 16.3 HH Registered Paint English (Hunter and dressage) and Western lesson horse.

It's hard to describe how good Opie is unless you watch him in a show or ride him yourself in a lesson.  He is talented and has  the kindest heart  of any animal you'll ever meet.   Once  you know him it's easy to see why he's the King of the Barn. Sarah Haver,   our founding instuctor, raised him from a colt and Trinity  is priviledged to own him since Jan'05. Opie had buyers from  Arizona, Maryland, Virginia  and New Jersey...but luckily we're the place he calls home.

Earl Gray (below left and right) 17 HH American  Warmblood used for English lessons (Hunter/jumper) and is level 2 Dressage.

'Earl the Pearl' is  nothing short of a thrill  to ride.  He's one of  those highly talented horses who knows  so  much; Jumps  3'6", Dressage level 2, Polo, Vaulting, Cross County  Jumping (all of eventing) and he can teach you alot!   Shown below  left,  the  1st week we owned Earl he  was our  demonstration horse for a barrel clinic run  by  Jill Flint.  You're seeing  Earl his 2nd time ever in a Western saddle and  turning the first barrel of his life.

Alleghany "Al" (below left and right) is one in a million earnest pony that loves to work. He's a 12.2  Pinto Pony that has decided he loves lessons and shows. Pictured below left at his 1st ever showing, this pint sized  10yr old seemed like he was born for  the hard work and chaos of a busy   show.   Al  is so smart  he  learned voice transitions in 2 Saturdays and flying lead changes in 2 lessons!  He also created quite a grass roots fan club at his 2nd show the Hemlock Fair and came in 6th in classes of 22 and 24.  He also helped the little 2 yr old (below) come  in 2nd in a class  of  9 lead-liners. Not bad for a rookie to the show circuit!

Whisper- 16HH Dark Bay TB.  This pro has taken care of an entire family of girls from 4H thru entering college prior to coming to Trinity.   Whisper is calm, cool collected and enjoys flat work, jumping, dressage and trails.  He's unflappable (proven to me personally in a lesson during his try-out period) and greatly enjoys his relationships with a few special girls.

Pictured below left with a 6 yr old at his 1st Trinity Show (July'05) and below right with one of his VERY special girls who currently leases Whisper.
