1

1)    Safety Comes First!  Please keep this in mind at all times.

2)    Lead Ropes are mandatory even for a short walk. NO EXCEPTIONS!

3)    Never ride into the barn.  Mount and Dismount about 50’-100’ away.

4)    Use caution working around horses.  No walking under necks, Do not kneel when cleaning feet, know your 1 rein stop and ER dismounts.

5)    Never move a group of horses down ‘the chute’ on foot. Move 1 at a time or push with Gator only! Never turn-in or out with no lighting.

6)    ASTM/SEI certified helmets are required for all riders at Trinity regardless of age.  This means everyone regardless of age & experience.

7)    NO-ONE rides without a signed release form.  They are found near ‘the barnio’ (purple barn radio) and must be deposited into the manager’s mailbox , handed to the manager (Laura) or your instructor directly before you ride. The .org not for profit forms are new-all must re-sign!

8)    Trinity is a non-smoking facility.  The only acceptable areas for smoking are in (meaning INSIDE) your own vehicle or out on the public roads.

9)    NEVER assume and allow someone else to ride Trinity’s horses   Permission to ride is granted by Stables and it may be independent or in need of supervision.

10)     Please use good judgment at all times around equines.  Think through what you are doing/going to do and read ahead for any potential problems.  Basically be alert and be CERTAIN to follow all the safety rules and the safety guidelines laid out in your volunteer training.

11)     Visiting Dogs and cats are not allowed on site at Trinity unless they stay in your vehicle.  This is for safety of all animals and riders.

12)      Bad language and gossip are not tolerated at the stables.  There are many children in & out of the facility and we adults need to set a good example.  Regarding gossip if you have an issue with someone please go to that person directly.

TRINITY BARN RULES continued…

13)     Lessons take precedence over the arena however you are welcome to ride in the other arena.  The only exceptions are a) if an intermediate rider is preparing for a show 1-2 other riders are OK in the arena at the same time or b) If an intermediate student has paid for a semi-private lesson and only 1 student is in the arena.  To be clear if a beginner rider or young student is taking a lesson you may not join in the same arena.  Lesson schedule is posted in the main barn near the tack room. Please see the manager with any concerns.

14)     PLEASE clean-up after your own horse in any of the common areas including the indoor and outdoor arena’s.  We have  plenty of shavings forks, shovels and brooms available for use.

15)      A clean barn is a HAPPY barn.  Please do your part and keep the  Stables clean and secure.

16)       Please be considerate of others in all situations in and around the barns and grounds.

17)      We love children at Trinity however this is not a playground.  We are a BYOB facility (BRING your own babysitter or BE your own babysitter).  Kids are not allowed to run wild or roam around as there are many dangerous areas on a working farm including but not limited to equipment, traffic and horses. So basically YOU are responsible for your own children and we are not responsible for any injuries that occur on the premises.

18)      Of course you may not use alcohol or illegal substances while on the premises of Trinity.  If you have come here under the influence of anything you need to leave the Stables and come back a different time.

19)      Attitude is everything. Bring a good one!

20)      Safety Comes First….and LAST!
